Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports is reporting that Oklahoma could possibly be playing UTEP in El Paso in the season opener. Not sure how true it is, but this would make the toughest schedule for UTEP, possible ever. It would feature Oklahoma in El Paso, Wisconsin in Madison, and Ole Miss in Oxford.

"Miner Memories": Kevin Beal Decks Sly Johnson. During a 1996 WAC game between the Miners and Wyoming, Sharif Fajardo gets fouled hard by the Cowboys' Sly Johnson while going up for a dunk. Jeff Spillar decides to get in Johnson's face for the cheap foul, but Sly is having none of it. He throws a punch that barely makes contact, and winds up paying for it as Kevin Beal comes in and makes him a mop on the Special Events Center floor.
