2022 NFL Draft Odds: Who Is Expected To Go No. 1?

The 2022 NFL Draft is upcoming this week and the top pick belongs to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars need so much help and the top pick will go a long way in helping that team. There are so many holes that any of the projected top picks can help them out.

According to the NFL odds checker, below are the best odds to go No. 1 overall with the top five listed.

- Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Michigan +155

- Travon Walker, DE, Georgia +265

- Evan Neal, OT, Alabama, 15/1

- Ikem Ekwonu, OT, N.C. State 17/1

- Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon. 19/1

As for who the Jaguars will take it is a mystery and not even the team itself really knows who they are going to take. There is the option to trade but the Jaguars are exploring all of their options.

"It will be interesting to see how the top ten lay out when it’s all said and done," General Manager Trent Baalke said. "… We still have a lot of meetings to go through… we’re ahead of last year schedule in terms of preparation."

The Jaguars need a whole lot of help after going through a disastrous year in which they fired first-year head coach Urban Meyer before he could even complete his first year.

Jacksonville has the 2020 No. 1 overall pick in QB Trevor Lawrence to build with and also their No. 32 pick from last year in Travis Etienne but the running back was hurt all of last year.

The team has a lot of wholes and that is unfortunate since there is no clear game-changing talent at No. 1 overall this year and trading down has been difficult as well for Jacksonville.

The Jaguars have been busy this offseason by spending a lot on free agency to bolster this team and mostly on offense.

The No. 1 pick could see the Jaguars take an elite defender in Hutchinson from Michigan to build on that side of the ball. He is the odds on favorite for a reason and he would slide right in and start from the get go for Jacksonville this year and anchor a defense for a long time to come.

Not that winning or being in the running for the Heisman trophy matters all that much at the next level, it at the very least shows that Hutchinson can make plays. He was the runner up for college football’s most outstanding player. Hutchinson had 14 sacks and was one of the best at getting to the backfield with 73 pressures. All of this adds up to him being a great fit at No. 1 overall.
