UTEP sophomore Vic Bohdan was named to the 2018 Conference USA Women’s Soccer Preseason Team.
Bohdan is one of 11 players to make the list and just one of two sophomores earning preseason honors.
“Victoria had one of the best freshman season in UTEP soccer history,” head coach Kevin Cross said. “She was an electric player on the field and has grown a lot as a sophomore. We are very proud of her.”
The Canada native was named to the 2017 C-USA Second Team and All-Freshman Team. Bohdan became the first freshman in program history to top the squad in three major offensive stat categories (goals, assists and points) for a season. She notched six goals, four assists and 16 points over the 2017 campaign.
Bohdan started 18 of 19 games played while logging a total of 1,426 minutes. She scored in back-to-back games against the University of Incarnate Word and Stephen F. Austin, providing the game winning goal in each of those contests.
The 2018 soccer season kicks off on Friday, Aug. 17, with the Miners opening a six-game home stand against Lubbock Christian University.
