Rodney Terry and his staff went back to California with their latest commit, snagging a commitment from Fresno guard Deon Stroud.

Stroud, 6’3, 175 pounds, was originally a 2019 recruit, but reclassified and will join the Miners next year according to sources.

ESPN rates him as a three-star prospect, and was selected to the Fresno Bee’s All-Star team as a sophomore in high school. Stroud went to Las Vegas ahead of last season to play at Trinity International in hopes of taking his recruitment to the next level at the basketball focused prep school.

Here is a scouting report from Unit 1 Hoops Source from Las Vegas:

At 6’5″ Combo-Guard Deon Stroud of Trinity International, is one of the most athletic guards in Las Vegas. This young man has a lot of upside to his game. He is very explosive and has the ability to run down players and make stops on the defensive end. He can become a lot better with his mid-range game and excel with more rep’s in the gym. Young fella is a very good Prospects! Welcome to the City!

He also has already been a #SCTop10 member with this sick dunk…
