247Sports ranks Hawkins as a three-star prospect and the 27th best player in the state. He scored 17.9 points per game last year as a senior as helped Cy Falls win a 6A Texas State Championship.
The 6’4 guard played four years of varsity at Cy Falls and averaged 21.1 points his junior year. Hawkins had been garnering ACC attention as Virginia Tech was also courting him recently.
UTEP now has two commitments for the class of 2018 during the late signing period.
