UTEP will lose two freshman from the 2017-18 season as both Trey Wade and Tirus Smith announced their intentions to transfer out of the UTEP program.

Their announcements via Twitter came minutes after each other on Tuesday, making it now three players who have transferred out of the program since the end of the season.
Wade, a 6’5 Georgia native, played in 25 games last season, averaging 7.1 points, and 4.1 rebounds and averaged 17.8 minutes per game.
Smith played in 24 games, missing time with an injury, but like Wade showed major potential notching a career high 17 points, and eight rebounds versus Howard.
