UTEP VERSUS UTSA IN 2017-18
UTEP averaged 60.0 ppg in two matchups with the Roadrunners earlier this season, shooting 37.9 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from three-point range and 57.4 percent from the line. UTSA averaged 64.0 ppg with a .377 field goal percentage, .352 three-point percentage and .605 free throw percentage. The Roadrunners had a +12.0 (45.5-33.5) rebound margin in the two games. Isiah Osborne (12.5 ppg), Paul Thomas (11.5 ppg), Kobe Magee (8.0 ppg) and Matt Willms (8.0 ppg) were the Miners’ top scorers in the two games. Thomas made 10-of-15 shots (66.7 percent) in the two contests, and Willms produced 16 points and 10 rebounds in 34 combined minutes.

UTEP is 13-12 in C-USA Championship games, reaching the semifinals in 2006, 2008, 2013, 2015 and 2016 and the final in 2010 and 2011. UTEP was seeded third in the C-USA Championship in 2006, 10th in 2007, sixth in 2008, fourth in 2009, first in 2010, third in 2011, eighth in 2012, third in 2013, fifth in 2014, second in 2015, sixth in 2016 and fourth in 2017. The Miners have advanced in the C-USA Tournament in each of the last eight years and nine of the last 10.
