Aggie Week is here, but the Miners have tons of questions on the offensive side of the depth chart to go along with the defensive struggles.
First, UTEP currently doesn’t have a set starting quarterback for Saturday.
It seems Ryan Metz could be an available option this week pending the health of his injured shoulder, but that is a complete unknown at this time.
So if Metz is ruled out for the second straight week it will be between Mark Torrez and Zack Greenlee. That final decision will be made as the week goes on.
At running back, UTEP could finally use a four man rotation that has been previously mentioned between Josh Fields, Ronald Awatt, Walter Dawn, and Kevin Dove.
Along the offensive line, Derron Gatewood is listed as the starting center, meaning he could be fully healthy to return this week against the Aggies after missing the Arizona game.
UTEP also added a new name to the wide receiver corps as JUCO transfer Erik Brown is now listed as the third x-receiver on the depth chart.
Defensively, no major changes from last week, but the health of Michael Lewis is still unknown early in the week.
UTEP and NMSU kick off Saturday in Las Cruces at 6 p.m.
