UTEP added their first verbal commit for the class of 2018 last week, as Rio Rancho, New Mexico tackle Evan Tafoya-Vallo verbally committed to UTEP.
Tafoya-Vallo picked UTEP over Air Force and New Mexico, anchoring an offensive line and offensive unit that ran for 235.6 yards per game last season.
He was also a Class 6A All-Metro First team selection last season, and was named to the 2016 American Family Insurance ALL-USA New Mexico Football Team after a stellar junior year.
At 6’4, 285 pounds, Tafoya-Vallo helped create holes for stud running back Josh Foley who ran for 2,074 yards last season as a senior.
Rio Rancho and their rush heavy attack visits El Paso to face El Paso-Americas on September 1st.
