UTEP's Aaron Jones took the field Friday at the 2017 NFL Combine, and put on a nice show as the El Pasoan looks to ink his name on NFL Draft Big Boards across the league.
Jones measured at 5'9, 208 pounds with an arm length of 32 ½', and his hands measured out at 9 ½' on Thursday. He also hit 16 reps on the bench press on Thursday.
On Friday, Jones timed out at an official 4.56 on his 40-yard time according to NFL.com, posting an unofficial 4.52 on the first, and a 4.50 on his second run.
Jones' vertical jump was measured at 37.5 inches which was tied for the second highest among running backs. He also had the third best broad jump among RB's at 127.0 inches.
Jones also looked sharp on the catching drills, and drew some minor criticism in other drills.
UTEP RB Aaron Jones is a pretty linear player & has a tendency to get upright too much - it's showing in drills. Great in space though.

Either way he did produce a solid workout, and Jones may have helped his stock with a solid showing in his field drills, particularly the catching drills after running the 40-yard dash.
UTEP's Hayden Plinke does his field work tomorrow.
Aaron Jones finishes with the T-6th best 40 yd time. That 2nd run was clutch, 4.52 would've left him out of top-10 #NFLCombine #cbs4sports pic.twitter.com/LKpTWHoakx

This is his bread'n'butter and @Showtyme_29 looked just as good as @CMccaffrey5 in the hardest receiving drill. #NFLCombine #cbs4sports pic.twitter.com/l3AiFqKMEy
