According to a report from FBSchedules.com, UTEP has renewed the rivalry with New Mexico for a 68th and 69th time, completing a contract for a home-and-home series in 2021, and 2022.
FBSchedules.com obtained a copy of the contract which has UTEP hosting the Lobos on September 25th, 2021, and the Miners making the trip up North to Albuquerque on September 22nd, 2022.
The 2021 out-of-conference schedule will feature Boise State, New Mexico, and New Mexico State with a potential for another home game.
2022's out of conference slate is full with road trips to Oklahoma and New Mexico, and home games against Boise State and New Mexico State.
Additionally, UTEP and New Mexico State also completed the contract for 2018 and 2019. 2018 will be in El Paso, and the 2019 game will be in Las Cruces.
UTEP also added Houston Baptist to the 2019 schedule which is also fully scheduled with games at Texas Tech, at NMSU, and a home game with Nevada.
The Miners will pay HBU $325,000 in guarantees for the 2019 meeting according to the public records request by FBS Schedules.
