Just when it looked like UTEP might avoid losing anyone to the 2017 coaching carousel, it was reported last night that wide receivers coach Theron Aych will be taking the same job over at Arizona.

Jason Scheer was the first to report Aych's departure from UTEP.

Aych spent one season at UTEP after a very successful five year stint as the offensive coordinator at Angelo State. In 2014, Angelo State averaged 39.4 points per contest, while racking up 469.7 yards of total offense per game. The Rams registered a 9-3 overall record in 2014.

Aych replaces Tony Dews, who left Arizona to join the staff at West Virginia last month.

While at UTEP, he was a key component in UTEP's recruiting efforts in Houston and was thought to be a rising commodity in the coaching world when UTEP added him last January.

It will be interesting to see who UTEP calls on to replace Aych as this move could hurt UTEP's recruiting efforts in Houston for the moment.

UTEP will host Arizona next season on September 16th in the Sun Bowl.
