Bruce Feldman reports what sources have been telling Miner Rush since Dana Dimel was hired that Mike Cox will UTEP’s new defensive coordinator.
SOURCE: Former #KState assistant Mike Cox is expected to be #UTEP's new defensive coordinator & ex #LSU, #TexasTech & #SouthCarolina asst Joe Robinson, an old West Texas guy, is expected to be the Miners special teams coordinator.

Feldman also tweets that former Texas Tech special teams coordinator Joe Robison is expected to assume the same role under Dimel at UTEP.
Cox, a former tight end in his playing days at Kansas State, has updated his Twitter page saying his UTEP’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
This would be Cox first coordinator job, he’s been a defensive assistant at a number of P5 schools, and was a defensive assistant in the NFL in 2007-08.
Additionally, Feldman reports that Dimel will also add former Arkansas assistant Reggie Mitchell as UTEP’s new running back coach. Mike Tuiasospo will lead the defensive line, Scotty Ohara is coming over from Rutgers to coach wide receivers. And Jake Waters will be the inside receiver coach for UTEP.
No word yet on a secondary coach or tight ends coach, but it appears on the surface that Dimel will not retain any staff members from the Kugler regime.
UTEP usually officially announces coaching changes once every vacancy is filled.
