The second team AP All-American was thought to be considering a leap into the 2017 NFL Draft after being regarded as one of the top guards in all of college football.
Hernandez, a Las Vegas native, was also named an All-American by FOX Sports, and Pro Football Focus. There was a strong feeling Hernandez would test the waters, but a UTEP official said on Saturday they expected Hernandez back for his senior year, and he confirmed today.
He will now be considered not only UTEP’s top pro prospect, but one of the top NFL prospects in all of college football next season.
