Sparkle Taylor was the only Miner to reach double figures, as 17 UTEP turnovers that led to 23 WKU points off turnovers ended up being the difference in a 71-54 loss Thursday night at the Don.
WKU turned a tied game with under four minutes left in the first quarter into a 30-10 run for the rest of the half which WKU marched ahead 41-21 at the break.
The Lady Tops had three score in double figures, and shot 46.2 percent from the floor making 7-of-20 attempts from behind the 3-point line.
Taylor ended the night with 23 points, and seven rebounds leading all scorers. UTEP shot 45.1 percent from the field, but went 2-for-6 from 3-point land, and 6-for-13 from the free throw line.
WKU flexed their depth muscle outscoring UTEP 23-6 in bench points, and won the rebounding battle 35-32.
UTEP drops to 5-14 overall, and 2-5 in conference play and will host Marshall on Saturday at 7 p.m.
