According to Will Sammon of the Clarion Ledger in Mississippi, UTEP received a verbal commitment from 2017 forward Ladarius Brewer.

Brewer, a 6’6, 200 pound small forward/combo guard from Meridian, Mississippi, held a D-1 offer from Duquesne and was ranked as Mississippi’s second best underclassmen prospect last November by USA Today.

He’s an unranked prospect by most of the major recruiting outlets, but has been a three year producer at Meridian High School.

This past summer Brewer averaged 12.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in three games during an Adidas Gauntlet AAU tournament.

Brewer is UTEP’s second verbal commit for the class of 2017 along with San Antonio, Texas guard Kobe Macgee.

In other recruiting news, 2017 forward Roderick Williams was on campus this weekend on an official visit.
