Sean Kugler acknowledged at the end of spring practices that UTEP needed some quarterback depth heading into the fall with Mack Leftwich on the shelf for 2016, and a JUCO quarterback is on his way to El Paso later this summer.
6'2, 200 pound Tevin Muse will join the team in the fall after two seasons at Tyler Junior College.

Muse, a Mansfield, Texas native, earned second team All-District 7-5A honors coming out of high school, leading Mansfield Timberview through one of the toughest districts in the state in 2013 and was class of 2014 member.
In his freshman year at Tyler JC, Muse threw for 919 yards, 10 touchdowns, and completed 56.9 percent of his passes playing in a two quarterback rotation system for both of his years at Tyler.
As a dual threat weapon, he ran for 653 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry in his two seasons, apart of a balanced offensive attack that averaged 534.5 total yards of offense last season.
He also has some winning experience being apart of 15 wins at Tyler in his JC stint, throwing major intrigue into UTEP's quarterback competition/situation with his experience and skill set.
With Zack Greenlee , Ryan Metz, and Kavika Johnson figuring to be the main "rep getters" (if you will) come the fall, it will be interesting to see where Muse falls in the mix for 2016 as he has two years of eligibility and has not used a red-shirt in his collegiate career.
UTEP's 2016 training camp starts August 4th.
