UTEP Football: Three-star 2017 QB Cam Roane offered by UTEP

Brent Pease offered a three-star 2017 QB.

UTEP's coaches have been out on the road recruiting since the end of the spring ball, taking a week longer than usual in previous years.

It seems like everywhere offensive coordinator Brent Pease goes to visit a high school campus there is a buzz, and some buzz was created when he offered highly regarded 2017 QB Cam Roane today.

Roane earned all-district honors this past season as a junior, throwing for 2,344 yards and 21 touchdowns.   He will start for third consecutive season, and second straight season at Heritage High in Colleyville, Texas this coming fall.

He's been on the varsity level since his freshman year, compiling 5,393 career passing yards as a prep along with 52 total touchdowns.  His sophomore season saw him complete 66% of 224 attempts, and has a career completion percentage of 59% per Max Preps.

Roane has offers from North Texas, UTSA, San Diego State, and Arkansas State, and is 247Sports' 25th best pro style quarterback in the class of 2017.

Rivals ranks him as the 17th best pro-style QB for the class of 2017.
