UTEP Basketball: Another 2016 guard is offered, and is Carlos Johnson still looking at UTEP?

UTEP offered a combo guard on Friday, but is a recent 3-star decommit still considering UTEP?

Little Rock, Arkansas 2016 wing Adrian Moore who earned all-state honors this past season was offered by UTEP last night, adding to the Miners short wish list during the late 2016 signing period.

Moore has offers from Baylor, Wake Forest, Tulsa, and Arkansas, and is a 6'4, 180 pound athletic high flyer who is considered one of the top remaining combo guards in the 2016 market.

Things should get interesting over the next couple of weeks, as some decisions from a few targets could be made very soon, and some surprise visits could also be set up.

UTEP's apparent number one target, 6'6 JUCO wing Kris Clyburn could make a decision on Monday per a tweet he sent out, and is visiting the University of Houston this weekend.

It looks like it could be a Texas showdown between UTEP, SMU, and Houston based on our crystal ball guesses.  A thing to watch is Houston just picked up a commit from a highly regarded JUCO small forward Devin Davis, while Clyburn would seemingly take over Lee Moore's minutes next season at UTEP in terms of playing time advantage.

Another thing to keep an eye out for is the re-opened recruitment of former UNLV commit, and 3-star wing Carlos Johnson.

He is still undecided and his recruitment is wide open holding offers from Oregon State, Cal, and UTEP among others.  He told OregonLive.com he plans to take visits soon and still considers UNLV as an option.

Two other 2016 high school prospects to watch is recently offered Jalen Johnson, and 6'9 forward Adrean Johnson who has been receiving heavy interest from UTEP, but has not received an offer.

May 18th is the last and final day of the late signing period for the class of 2016.
