Sophomore-to-be tight end Cole Ford announced via Twitter this afternoon that he intends to transfer from UTEP.
Thankful for the experience here at UTEP and look forward to what the future holds . I've decided to transfer . And have been released.

Ford appeared in nine games last season as a true freshman in a reserve role, catching three passes for 13 yards, but saw increased playing time down the stretch of the season as a run blocker.
He was in the midst of a strong spring, and figured to be in the mix for the second pass catching role at tight end this season behind Hayden Plinke.
Redshirt sophomore Augie Touris who has seen an increase in reps in the spring will now move up on the depth chart, but the Miners will now only have two available tight ends on the current roster for the rest of the spring.
Ford, a Bothell, Washington native has not announced his transfer destination.
