University of Maryland Honors Texas Western's 1966 National Championship

The champs went back to where it all happened, Cole Field House.

Cole Field House in College Park, Maryland on the campus of the University of Maryland was the setting in where UTEP, El Paso, and College Basketball history was made.

50 years later to the date, the University of Maryland honored the Texas Western team that made it all happen with an emotional video tribute as they paid respect to the champs with a reunion that happened back in February.

March 19th, 1966 is the anniversary date when the Miners knocked off Kentucky 72-65 to capture the 1966 crown inside the iconic venue.

David Lattin also made an appearance on ESPN's Sports Center this morning as the 50th celebration of the historic championship run continues.
