ESPN: UTEP Assistant Bob Cantu in the mix for Arkansas State job

UTEP's lead recruiter maybe poached by Arkansas State.

According ESPN's Jeff Goodman, his sources are saying UTEP assistant coach Bob Cantu has been linked to the opening at Arkansas State.

Former head coach John Brady announced in mid-November that we would resign at Arkansas State after eight years at the program.

CoachStat.net named Cantu as the #24th top assistant coach in the country, and has been UTEP's lead recruiter the past three seasons under Tim Floyd.

Cantu was also recently rated the #4 assistant coach in the country for mid-major programs by HoopScoop and Basketball Times. He was repeatedly named one of the nation's top-20 assistant coaches by Fox Sports and Hoop Scoop from 2007-12, including the #2 Assistant Coach in the PAC-10 in 2010.

Arkansas State failed qualify for the Sun Belt Tournament this past season, and lost nine straight to end the regular season.
