After five straight weeks of votes in both the AP top-25, and USA TODAY coaches poll, the UTEP Women's basketball team cracked the USA Today Top-25 poll with 38-points.
The Miners come in at #25 in the USA TODAY poll behind Florida and Colorado State, both BYU and Missouri dropped out of the rankings this week. It marks the first time since the 2007-2008 season that UTEP has been nationally ranked.
For the 12th straight week, UTEP received votes in the AP Top-25, they picked up 23 votes this week which puts them at #27 in the AP voting.
UTEP is currently 25-2 overall, and 15-1 in Conference USA. The Miners have locked up both a number one seed in the Conference USA Tournament, and the regular season C-USA title.
The USA TODAY Sports women's basketball coaches poll, which started in 1986, is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Division I schools. The panel is chosen by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
The members represent each of the 32 Division I conferences that receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.
The Miners season finale is Thursday evening in San Antonio against UTSA.
