UTEP Football: Aaron Jones arrested in February on DWI charge

UTEP's star running back was arrested in early February.

According to online El Paso County Criminal Records, UTEP running back Aaron Jones was arrested for an alleged misdemeanor DWI charge on February 10th.

Jones posted a $600 bond the same day of the arrest, and will be represented by attorney Jim Darnell.  He will be arraigned on March 29th according to court records.

The 5'10, 205 pound standout missed last season with a foot injury sustained in the second game of the season against Texas Tech, and currently ranks eight on the school's all-time rushing list.

UTEP starts spring practice on March 14th, but Jones is still rehabbing from his foot injury and is not excepted to go through spring practices.

Sean Kugler released the following statement.

"We are waiting for the process to fully develop and once I have all the facts, I will evaluate the situation," said head coach Sean Kugler. "There are consequences to poor decisions and Aaron (Jones) will be held to the same standard as every other student-athlete in our program."
