UTEP will open C-USA play at home with Southern Miss. on September 24th as the 2016 football schedule was released by the conference today.
2016 features seven UTEP home games, and the reverse order of home-and-away match-ups with 2015 C-USA opponents.
UTEP opens the season September 3rd at home against I-10 rival NMSU, then travels to Austin on September 10th to play Texas.
One of the more anticipated out of conference home games in the past couple of seasons that will draw a decent crowd will be the September 17th match-up with Army. UTEP finishes up the out of conference portion with Houston Baptist on November 5th.
The only consecutive road game portion of the schedule for UTEP will be November 12th when UTEP travels to FAU, then the following week on November 19th, UTEP goes to Houston to face Rice.
UTEP will have a pair of back-to-back home game segments on the schedule with Army on September 17, then the C-USA opener with Southern Miss on September 24th. Prior to the November 5th date with Houston Baptist, UTEP will host Old Dominion on October 29th.
UTEP's bye week will be on the weekend of October 15th.
Kickoff times, and TV games will be announced at a later date.
