UTEP Women's Basketball: Jenzel Nash named C-USA Co-Player of the Week

A big performance on Saturday led to a C-USA player of the week honor.

On Saturday, Jenzel Nash scored 31 points, and made several key plays to help UTEP earn the C-USA regular season title with a double overtime win against Charlotte.

On Monday, Nash was named Conference USA's Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for her sensational performance.

Nash was honored with the weekly recognition along with Western Kentucky standout Kendall Noble.

She made several big plays against Charlotte on Saturday, but none bigger than with 19 seconds remaining in regulation and Charlotte holding a 72-70 lead.

The 49ers inbounded the ball on the baseline and Nash somehow managed to come up with a steal, muscle up a shot that didn't go but did result in a foul.

She stepped to the line with 14.6 seconds left and calmly sank both charity stripe tosses (two of her 11 points in the fourth quarter) to send the game to overtime.

Nash also posted seven points, four rebounds, and two steals in last Thursday's win against Old Dominion.

UTEP will be the number one seed in the Conference USA Tournament, and will finish the regular season this Thursday at UTSA.
