UTEP Football: Large class set to be announced on National Signing Day

Last year it was size, this year it was about speed on both sides of the ball with a large class expected to blow up UTEP's fax machines on National Signing Day.

Since May of 2015 when the first commit was confirmed, UTEP has been piecing together an important class of 2016 that recently grew with more size, speed, rated talent, and plenty of depth for the future.

According to the El Paso Times, the total number of signees could reach as many as 29 by the end of the day on Wednesday.

UTEP has 21 high school verbal commits who are expected to sign on Wednesday, with very minimal-to-no last minute flips expected.

What could be expected is six-to-seven targets making decisions tomorrow, or during the signing period.

Here are the remaining targets that could sign with UTEP tomorrow, and the projected percentage of them signing.

Of course some names that you haven't heard of may also pop up by tomorrow.

Jassir Jordan, DB, 5'11, 170 lbs, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania 70%

Devin Elliott, WR, 6'2, 195, Okolona, Mississippi, Jones County JC 50%

Antonio Kanonu, DB, 6'0, 165 lbs, Lafayette, Louisiana, less than 50%

Tylan Shelby, DE, 6'5, 225 lbs, Friendswood, Texas 70%

Steven Mason, DE, 6'7, 255 lbs, San Diego, California, 80%

Alex Fontana, OL, 6'3, 310 lbs, Roswell, New Mexico, 65%

Caylin Parker, 6'0, 205 lbs, Belle Chasse, Louisiana, 85%

Jalen Walker, DB, 6'0, 180 lbs, Lawdale, California, 80%

Jo-Bently Keilani, NG, 6'3, 360 lb, Beaverton, Oregon, less than 50%

Keith Sullivan, DE, 6'7, 255 lbs, Houston, Texas, 90%

Joseph Tyrone Pickney, DB, 6'1, 190, Crosby, Texas, 90%

Most of the remaining targets listed are mulling over multiple offers, while at least 10 of those recruits have had recent contact and visits with UTEP coaches over past couple of months.

UTEP is also expected to sign a record number of El Paso natives with seven commits for the class of 2016 set to sign across the city.

22 of the current 23 confirmed members of the class of 2016 are high school prospects, as Kugler keeps two major promises in his recruiting plan for the soon-to-be announced class.

Recruit El Paso's best, and develop high school players with big classes like 2016 are the two promises, something we will see unveiled at noon tomorrow.
