Hunter appeared in 32 games for the Reno Bighorns this season, averaging 21.2 points, and 11.3 rebounds in his rookie season of pro ball. His strong start to his pro career led to an appearance in the NBA D-League All-Star game where he scored 12 points, and added seven rebounds last weekend.
The move comes as Hunter had yet to be called up to an NBA team after waiting for an NBA chance after the NBA All-Star game, and joins fellow American and former Portland Trailblazer Elliot Williams who also signed with Panathinaikos Athens.
Hunter would have to secure a work permit from the Bureau of Immigration, and go through other protocols before making his overseas debut.
