UTEP Announces Promotional Info for FIU Football Game

The UTEP football team will be home for three of its next four games starting on Saturday (Oct. 8) when it hosts FIU at 6 p.m.

As part of “National Tailgate Weekend,” UTEP will celebrate tailgating in the Sun Bowl and fans are invited to participate with a chance to win some fabulous prizes!

Share your tailgating experiences by e-mail (paydirtpete@utep.edu) or by posting on the UTEP Athletics Facebook page (www.facebook.com/UTEPAthletics). How many years have you been tailgating at the UTEP games? What are your tailgating traditions? What makes tailgating so special in the Sun Bowl?

The responses will be reviewed and some tailgating groups will be honored on the field during Saturday’s game. Special tailgating packages will also be given away.

Send your tailgating stories by Friday (Oct. 7) in order to be considered for the giveaways at the game.

Saturday also marks UTEP’s annual Hall of Fame game as this year’s induction class, including LPGA standout and 2016 Olympian Gerina Piller, will be recognized. Also being inducted this year are Orsten Artis (men’s basketball), Harrington Jackson (track & field), Brian Natkin (football) and Mack Saxon (football coach).
