UTEP Basketball: Tim Floyd does not expect Canadian transfer Isiah Osborne to play this season

UTEP head coach Tim Floyd revealed after Saturday’s scrimmage that he does not expect transfer guard Isiah Osborne to be eligible to play for the Miners this season.

“It doesn’t look like he’ll be with us. “ Tim Floyd said after Saturday’s scrimmage. “We knew that when we brought him in here, we felt like with the forgiveness policies that were going on with the NCAA in terms of guys being granted waivers we thought we might have had a chance.”

Osborne score four points in 23 minutes during Saturday’s scrimmage.

“There’s only been one documented case of a guy from Canada playing in the United States.” Floyd said. “That was at Yale University in football, so it looks like we’ll have to wait a year, and that’s what were planning on.”
