UTEP is hosting at least 15 recruits this weekend and two prospects pledged their UTEP commitment today during those visits.
Baltimore, Maryland running back Antonio Dupree, and wide receiver/returner Walter Dawn Jr. both announced their verbal commitments.
Dupree, 5'10, 220 lbs, is a 247Sports three-star prospect who had offers from Iowa, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Marshall, and Ohio State.
247Sports also rated him the 77th best running in the nation, and is Sean Kugler's highest rated verbal commit to date.
He played for Maryland power house Gilman High and won the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference Championship this past season.
Dawn Jr., 5'8, 175 pounds, was one of only a handful of players in the state of Texas who had both 1,000 yards rushing and receiving this past season. He ran for 1,003 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns, and had 53 receptions for 1,007 yards and eight touchdowns.
His prolific season for Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas landed him on the 12-5A First Team All District Team.
Both commits add to 17 total commits for the class of 2016, and three offensive skill position commits for the class of 2016.
Dawn Jr. will be a wide receiver and kick returner, while Dupree is the complete power back Sean Kugler has been looking for.
I'd like to thank god for blessing me for this moment. I have committed to UTEP⛏#UTEP'20 pic.twitter.com/KSxDaTxqIe
