Junior wideout Jaquan White was named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week for his week three performance the league office announced on Monday.
White returned a punt 64-yards for a touchdown to tie the game up at 30 in the fourth quarter of UTEP's 50-47 overtime win against NMSU. He also hauled in five key receptions for 44-yards on offense.
The punt return ranks as the longest punt return so far this season in C-USA and is ranked 19th nationally.
The last time UTEP had a punt returned for a score was in 2006 when former UTEP star and Oakland Raider Johnnie Lee Higgins took one back 88-yards.
UTEP opens their 2015 home schedule with the Incarnate Word Cardinals on Saturday at 6:05 in the Sun Bowl.
