UTEP basketball: Pair of 2016 guards expected to visit UTEP this weekend

The coaching staff has been busy on the September recruiting trail, and will host two 2016 guards this weekend.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Louisiana guard Malik Crowfield, and California guard Lelan Green will be visiting UTEP this weekend.

Crowfield is a wiry 6'4, three star rated guard from La Place, Louisiana who averaged 13.0 points per game, and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 8/18 from three point land this past summer in an AAU event with the New Orleans Elite 17U program.

He holds offers from Baylor, LSU, Houston, and Mississippi State and is currently at Riverside Academy for his senior year.

Green, a Redondo Beach, California native averaged over 16 points per game last year as a junior, and was named co-MVP of the prestigious Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas while leading Redondo Union to the tournament title last season in front of a number of PAC-12 coaches.

A consensus three star, the 6'2 Green who has been described as a physical and active guard, holding offers from UNLV, Arizona State and is also ranked as a top-20 player in California by 247Sports.
