Americas Head Coach Patrick Melton told Miner Rush on Friday that 2016 ATH Eric Foster has verbally committed to the UTEP Miners.
Foster is currently playing quarterback for the Trail Blazers, and is slated to play cornerback at UTEP. The 6'2 athlete has ran for 229 yards so far this season, and has thrown for another 134 yards.
Melton also tells us he expects Foster to add another couple of inches to his 6'2, 180 pound frame.
Foster has played receiver, defensive back, and quarterback at Americas and also had an offer from New Mexico.
Possessing a long stride 4.5 40-yard dash time, Foster also has the perfect length and natural football athletic ability that helps him stand out and become a sure fire FBS prospect, and even better fit in UTEP's defense.
We would consider Foster one of the top FBS prospects in El Paso along with fellow UTEP commit Brannon Bullitt.
Americas High will hold an official announcement ceremony in a couple of weeks.
