The 6'5, 220 pound wing played last season season for El Cerrito High School, averaging 15.9 points per game, and 8.3 rebounds per game as a junior.
Johnson will take his talents to Vegas this school year and will enroll at Findlay Prep, furthering his chances of raising his recruiting stock.
He holds current offers from UNLV, California, and UC-Santa Barbara, and is rated as a three star prospect by Scout, and also by Rivals.
UTEP is looking to replace senior-to-be Earvin Morris, and with Armoni Brooks leaving UTEP out if his top suitors list, Johnson could now become a high priority signature for the coaching staff.
Johnson's frame, and freakish athletic ability would add to UTEP's already deep arsenal of versatile forwards already locked in for this coming season.
UTEP certainly needs some muscle to go along with their length, and Johnson could very well be that guy.
