Former UTEP point guard C.J. Cooper has inked his first professional deal, signing with Malbas Orsedun of the Swedish Basketettan League according to EuroBasket.com.
Cooper converted to point guard full-time midway through his junior year at UTEP and thrived in the role handing out 208 assists in 67 games the past two seasons. Cooper committed just 43 turnovers last season while averaging 30.8 minutes per-game in his senior season.
He also averaged 8.1 points per game last season and was second on the team with 48 three pointers made in his senior season. The league in Sweden should start up in late September, Malbas went 9-5 last season finishing second in their division, Cooper is the only US born player currently on their roster.
