UTEP football: 2016 El Paso ATH Eric Foster offered by UTEP

Sean Kugler has further vowed to protect El Paso, and keep kids here with another local offer.

Even with camp just actual days away, and Sean Kugler packing for Boca Raton ahead of this week's C-USA media days, crootin' never stops as Kugler and his staff have offered El Paso athlete Eric Foster.

Foster was a utility offensive player last season for Patrick Melton at Americas High in El Paso, throwing for 121 yards on 8-for-25 passing, rushing for 107 yards, and racking up 664 yards receiving via 42 catches in his primary position as a wide receiver in 2014.

In total, the 6'0, 180 pound play maker amassed 892 yards of total offense in 2014, he threw four touchdowns, and caught six touchdown passes in his junior year.

With the graduation of Americas' do-it-all quarterback Q. Drennan, Foster's role in the Americas offense should increase in different capacities, as well as in his overall offensive production which could lead to more offers, and FBS level exposure coming up in the 2015 season.

He'll be playing along side running back Josh Fields who is a highly targeted 2017 UTEP offer holder, which appears to be strengthening a budding pipeline UTEP could be creating with the East El Paso high school.

Head coach Patrick Melton has raised the bar, and put Americas on the map for FBS coaches and on the El Paso totem pole for high school football relevance since he took over in 2009.  He played a huge role in former Americas running back, and current Boise State running Jack Fields' recruiting process.

Drennan who was also a very highly targeted UTEP target in 2014 signed with New Mexico's class of 2014, while another 2014 teammate and offensive lineman Markos Lujan signed with UTEP.

The current Fields manning the backfield at Americas is following in the same recruiting spot light of his brother Jack who was the top El Paso FBS prospect in 2012.  The younger Fields will see his list of offers increase after posting an 1,000 yard rushing season in 2014 as a sophomore, and preparing for an even bigger junior year.

Sean Kugler told Miner Rush on Monday that he has 14 available scholarships for 2016, but plans to sign 20 with four 2016 commitments already in JUCO safety Houston Haynes, El Campo fullback Kevin Dove, defensive lineman Robert DeHaro from El Paso Montwood. and El Paso Chapin's ATH Brannon Bullitt
