UTEP football: Miners add late 2015 signee

Wesley Hill has signed an LOI adding him to the class of 2015.

UTEP continues to stockpile depth on the defensive side of the ball for the future with the signing of San Bernardino linebacker Wesley Hill a 2015 prospect as first reported by the Press-Enterprise.

Hill was named All-CIF last season in 2014, leading San Gorgonio with 122 tackles, with 75 solo tackles, 8.0 sacks and two interceptions over the past two seasons.

He also rushed for 1,173 yards, and 19 rushing touchdowns the past two seasons as well, adding 192 yards receiving with three receiving touchdowns in his final two years as a prep player.

At 6'0, 205 pounds, Hill can be projected as a safety, but has the frame to add needed pounds to become a linebacker or a hybrid type on the defensive side of the ball.

Washington State, UNLV, Northern Arizona, and Portland State reportedly had offered Hill and will be on the UTEP campus this coming fall.

"He was always a guy teams had to account for," San Gorgonio coach Ron Gueringer told the Press Enterprise, "He (Hill) stuck with it, got his grades up and now he's the fourth player to sign from our 2015 class."
