247Sports ranks Dominic Artis as their top 2015 JUCO player in the nation

Artis' signing gives UTEP a scary looking back court, well at least on paper.

In an updated player ranking from 247Sports that was released today, UTEP signee Dominic Artis is now ranked as the number one JUCO player in the nation according to their site.

Despite sitting out and not playing at Diablo Valley College last season, 247Sports is high on Artis’ potential, as should the rest of Miner nation.

The 6’1 playmaker will give UTEP’s offense an added dimension of a smooth dribbler, with efficient scoring, and shooting ability, but he also shows the important of gene of making offense flow with his aggressive true point guard style of play.

Also ranked in the updated JUCO 247Sports rankings is fellow guard signee Lee Moore who checks in at #22 despite only playing three games this past season at Wallace State Community College.

With the addition of Moore, and Artis, UTEP will have one of the best on paper backcourts of the Tim Floyd era with Omega Harris, and Earvin Morris giving UTEP plenty of dynamic scoring options from the guard spot.

Overall UTEP’s 2015 class is ranked 43rd in the nation according to 247Sports which is the highest rated class in the C-USA.
