Showers started 21 games for UTEP over the past two seasons after appearing in 12 games in his freshman and sophomore years at Texas A&M. The Killeen native helped UTEP snap a four year bowl drought last season as a senior.
Combing to throw 23 touchdowns in his two years as a Miner, Showers impressed during his pre-draft workouts including the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, and participating in both UTEP's and Texas A&M's pro-day.
Tomlinson appeared in 45 games in his four year UTEP career, recording 59 catches for 547 yards, and four touchdowns in his career. His elite run blocking skills helped paved the way for UTEP to rush for over 2,500 yards last season, Tomlinson provides huge value as a sixth blocker in a run scheme.
A solid pre-draft showing as well, Tomlinson improved his 40-yard dash time and his vertical jump from his NFL combine appearance, to his UTEP pro-day. The Klein, Texas native also appeared in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
NFL teams can start their three day rookie mini-camps beginning on May 8th.
