Senior, and second year starter at center Eric Lee was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list, the committee for the trophy announced today.
The list is comprised of the 52 best rated FBS centers projected to be the elite of the elite at that position in the upcoming 2015 season.
Also included in the list is Sean Kugler's son Robert Kugler who is entering his senior year at Purdue.
Lee started all 13 games last season for UTEP, anchoring a unit that only allowed 13 sacks last season, and ranked 33rd nationally in rushing.
The vocal leader along the line was well known for his perfect line checks, and athletic play in the trenches this past season, this award recognition could also propel Lee into the NFL prospect category.
UTEP's fall camp starts August 6th in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
