UTEP added a little more size to the class of 2015 with the commitment of 6-11, Center Kelvin Jones from Hobbs, New Mexico.
CTF and staff were out looking and offered the 2015 sleeper back in November who averaged 14.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game last year as a senior.
Jones led Hobbs to a 30-2 record and a class 6A state title last season, and is a Rivals three-star prospect.
At 6’11, with the possibility of reaching 7’0 or beyond, Jones adds much needed front court depth, and is a proven winner who put up a 16 point, nine rebound effort in the class 6A state title game back in March.
According to the El Paso Times, Jones could possibly be a Prop 48 commit which means he will sit out this upcoming season, and join the Miners in the class of 2016.
It appears now UTEP has put a bow tie on the class of 2015, with the roster filled, October can’t come quick enough.
