UTEP's sophomore sensation Vince Hunter was named first team All-Conference USA the league office announced on Monday.
Hunter averaged 15.2 points per game, and led the league with 9.3 rebounds per game, also notching a league high 12 double-doubles on the season marking his second straight all-conference selection.
You have to go back to the Jim Forbes era of the early 70's to find a Miner who collected more double-doubles in a season than Hunter; VH is also on the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award watch list.
He ended the season with a pair of solid outings combining for 41 points and 20 rebounds in the last two games of the season, and began the year with five straight double-doubles.
UTEP will face the winner of the FIU/UTSA first round match up on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Mountain Time, Live on the American Sports Network.
