UTEP head coach Tim Floyd has been suspended one game for his ejection during last night's LA Tech game the C-USA league office announced today.
Floyd received a pair of technical fouls midway through the second half, and failed to leave the court in a timely manner, breaking the league's Sportsmanship Policy.
According to the conference's standards of conduct, any delay or contrary action following an ejection will result in an automatic suspension in the following contest.
UTEP's Hooper Vint was fighting for a loose rebound when he was whistled for a very questionable loose ball foul on LA Tech's Kenneth Smith prompting Floyd's antics, and eventual ejection.
The event swung momentum and points LA Tech's way as UTEP never recovered from an already steep deficit, dropping a shot at first place with a 77-60 loss to the Bulldogs.
Floyd will serve his suspension Saturday night when the Miners visit Hattiesburg to take on Southern Miss. in their final road game of the season.
