UTEP basketball recruiting: Tyson Jolly among top 2015 targets for UTEP

Coach Floyd and his staff hit the road this week with a few prime destinations circled for important 2015 prospects.

Without commenting or dropping names per obvious NCAA rules on who Tim Floyd was in Oklahoma recruiting last night, assistant coach Phil Johnson did give out some major clues as he filled in on Floyd's weekly radio show Monday night.

Once Johnson mentioned Omega Harris when discussing Floyd's first stop on his recruiting trip, it became clear 2015 guard Tyson Jolly is a top priority along with a few more offers that became official during a busy recruiting news day on Monday.

Jolly is a Rivals three-star prospect, and is a good friend of current Miner Omega Harris and has been tops on UTEP's radar for awhile now.  His recruiting stock has skyrocketed in the past couple of months, holding offers from SMU, and Tulsa while gaining major interest from a number of power conference teams.

The 6'4, 200 pound guard dropped 41 points, including four three pointers, and was 10/13 from the free throw line in a 119-82 win last week, and would bring a nice flair along side Harris in UTEP's 2015-16 back court.

While Jolly's offer has been out there for awhile now, a couple of other 2015 offers came to light yesterday.

6'9 prep power forward Isaiah Maurice from Durham, North Carolina received an offer from assistant coach Ken DeWesse yesterday.  The defensive minded Maurice has also drawn interest from Clemson, and Miami and is rated as a three-star prospect by Scout.com.

2015 guard Ke'Jhan Feagin was offered by assistant coach Bob Cantu yesterday. the 6'0 guard from Long Beach, California is averaging 13.2 points per game this season, and leads his high school team in assists.

According to this tweet, Floyd's recruiting journey this week will land him in Vegas tonight to see 2015 guard Patrick Savoy.

With one 2015 scholarship available, UTEP appears to have a multitude of options for the remaining available 2015 spot.

Other 2015 names who have an offer or drawing major UTEP interest are 2015 high school guard Ryan Woolridge from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, seven foot JUCO center Conor Clifford, and 6'8, 2015 high school forward Mike Edwards from the Detroit area.

Sources say UTEP is expected to be in to see Edwards tomorrow.

The regular or "late" signing period for the class of 2015 starts April 13th, and ends May 18th.
