Over 90% of UTEP's offensive production in the final two games came from freshman, while a handful of others saw signifgant playing througout the season on defense, and today three UTEP freshman were named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team.
Tight end Cole Ford, wide receiver/running back/punt returner Warren Redix, and defensive back Michael Lewis all were named to the 2015 C-USA All-Freshman Team annouced by the league.
Redix had 136 yards rushing, and 202 yards receving with a touchdown, and plied up 419 all-purpose yards. Redix became UTEP's main offensive weapon in the last couple of games due to injuries in UTEP's skill positions and made the all-conference team as a punt returner.
Ford also saw lots of playing time down the stretch of the season, recording three catches for 13 yards, but also proved he is a relaible blocker, and showed some atheltic ability as a pass catcher.
One UTEP's most productive freshman in Michael Lewis earned a spot on the freshman defensive team.
Lewis was 8th on the team in tackles, and added two pass breaks and quarterback hurries as a true freshman who started eight games and appeared in all 12.
