Three UTEP Freshmen Garner League Wide Recognition

Cole Ford, Warren Redix, and Michael Lewis were named to the Conference USA all Freshman teams, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Over 90% of UTEP's offensive production in the final two games came from freshman, while a handful of others saw signifgant playing througout the season on defense, and today three UTEP freshman were named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team.

Tight end Cole Ford, wide receiver/running back/punt returner Warren Redix, and defensive back Michael Lewis all were named to the 2015 C-USA All-Freshman Team annouced by the league.

Redix had 136 yards rushing, and 202 yards receving with a touchdown, and plied up 419 all-purpose yards.  Redix became UTEP's main offensive weapon in the last couple of games due to injuries in UTEP's skill positions and made the all-conference team as a punt returner.

Ford also saw lots of playing time down the stretch of the season, recording three catches for 13 yards, but also proved he is a relaible blocker, and showed some atheltic ability as a pass catcher.

One UTEP's most productive freshman in Michael Lewis earned a spot on the freshman defensive team.

Lewis was 8th on the team in tackles, and added two pass breaks and quarterback hurries as a true freshman who started eight games and appeared in all 12.

C-USA's 13 coaches voted on the all-freshman team, 10 teams are represented, UTEP was one of three teams who had three selections.
