According to an El Paso Times article, El Paso Montwood defensive lineman Josh Ortega has committed to UTEP.

Ortega. 6'2, 270 pounds, was Montwood's third leading tackler, and added four sacks to go along with 40 tackles spearheading one of the best defensive lines in the city this past season.

He joins teammate and offensive lineman commit Bobby DeHaro in UTEP's class of 2016 which now has seven El Paso prospects committed to Sean Kugler's program.

Ortega was quoted by the Times as saying the coaching staff really likes his size, explosion of the ball, and the use of hands.  He will also participate in the Greater El Paso Football Showcase All-Star game this Saturday afternoon in the Sun Bowl.
