UTEP Football: 2016 RB Peytton Pickett visits UTEP

An area of need is being courted here in El Paso this weekend.

Arlington Sam Houston Running Back Peytton Pickett is in El Paso for his official visit reports Todd Kaufmann who covers recruiting in the Dallas-Forth Worth area.

Pickett, (5'8 185 lbs) ran for 1,550 yards and 16 touchdowns this past season and holds offers from Kansas, and SMU with visits to Utah State, Nevada, and New Mexico coming up.

247Sports' crystal ball prediction has him 100% projected to commit to Kansas, UTEP offered 247Sports' 123rd overall running back in October to fill an area of immediate depth need for 2016.

UTEP is losing LaQuintus Dowell, and Jeremiah Laufasa to graduation at running back, 2016 commit Kevin Dove is a running back commit but is projected as a full back who can be a versatile tween-er like Darrin Laufasa.

Sean Kugler indicated a last month that running back is one of the few offensive priorities with the remaining 2016 scholarships.

Also visiting this weekend is JUCO offensive lineman commit Tanner Stallings who will start school at UTEP next semester ahead of spring practice.

Sean Kugler now has 10 commits and seven available scholarships for the class of 2016.
