UTEP at North Texas: UTEP’s Depth Chart Outlook

One final game, but more injuries pile up for UTEP’s season finale.

UTEP will be without tight end Hayden Plinke, offensive tackle Jerome Daniels, while linebacker Jimmy Musgrave, and Kelvin Fisher Jr. will be game time decisions against North Texas.

Plinke and Daniels both broke a foot, Musgrave is dealing with a concussion, and Fisher Jr. is battling a hip pointer.

Cedrick Lang is now listed as the starting tight end, with a mix of freshman Cole Ford, and sophomore Sterling Napier behind on the depth chart.

Chris Thomas will move over to starting left tackle in replace of Daniels, Jerrod Brooks is listed as the backup for both tackle spots.

UTEP will continue to use a right guard combo of Derek Elmendorff, and Anthony Kyles as Elmendorff battles through his injuries.

Sean Kugler said on Monday that he will continue to use both Kavika Johnson, and Ryan Metz at quarterback against North Texas, working the rotation similar to the LA Tech game.

Jeremiah Laufasa is banged up as well, but is listed as the starting running back.   TK Powell makes his first career game week appearance on the depth chart, and Kugler says there is a possibility Treyvon Hughes can return from a high ankle sprain this week.

Alan Luna is now the holder on field goal tries.

UTEP takes on North Texas Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Time in Denton.
