UTEP along with the College of Charleston, Boise State, Mississippi State, UCF, Villanova, Wake Forest, and Western Michigan will compete in the 2016 Charleston Classic according to multiple reports.
The tournament will take place November 17th, 18th, and 20th at the TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina and will be aired on the ESPN family of networks.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to play in such a prestigious tournament," UTEP coach Tim Floyd said. "The level of competition will give us an early indication of who we are as a basketball team. We have had a great experience participating in these ESPN tournaments the last few years and are looking forward to doing so again."
The Gildan Charleston Classic features a bracket format with 12 games over three days. Each team competes in one game per day. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a championship game on the final day of competition.
This will be UTEP's first appearance in the nine year tournament, the full bracket and game times will be released in the summer.
